You’ve probably heard the saying, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”. Today, we are unearthing the mystery of why this place truly is the entertainment capital of the world. If you want the best experience, you should head on down to The Strip.
If you’re 21 and over with your ID, you can try your luck at one of the 104 casinos across the city. Their bright lights on their exteriors seem to rile up your excitement and beckon you inside. If you’re feeling a bit drowsy, not to worry! There are plenty of luxury resorts, most of which are located in the same building as the casinos.
If gambling isn’t your scene, there are plenty of concerts and shows to go see. If you mosey down The Strip, you’ll find yourself at the House of Blues. They constantly have amazing artists and bands like Marilyn Manson, Breaking Benjamin, and even Ice Cube recently. Depending on the artist, the general rule of the House of Blues is that 12 and under individuals need to be accompanied by an adult. If you’re looking for a chuckle, the infamous Laugh Factory show take place in Tropicana Las Vegas and general admission tickets are less than $40. You can be mesmerized by magicians like David Copperfield, catch a musical adaptation of Friends, or witness a UFC fight at the T-Mobile Arena.
Already there’s so much to see, but don’t forget your basic needs- you’re hungry! You could go fast food, or, you could take a walk down to one of the many gourmet restaurants. French chef Joel Robuchon, Michelin 3-Star recipient, can be found at the MGM Grand hotel, serving up dishes that are to die for.
Oh no! You spilled something on your shirt! Fear not my friend, there are plenty of stores nearby, and they’re all in the same building! The Fashion Outlet is home to about 250 stores, including a lot of your favorites: Macy’s, Dillard’s, even the Lego Store if you need to get in touch with your inner child. Most of the casinos/hotels have these retail stores built into their buildings, so you may not have to go as far as you think to get a cute outfit.
If you’re in need of a bit of physical activity, or just a new hobby, Vegas has the sport for you: golf! You don’t even need to leave The Strip: the ever popular Bali Hai Golf Club has the sweet release you need with its tropical Island feel.
If you’re feeling a bit of wanderlust, you can take a small drive out to one of the many nature trails. Mount Charleston, about 30 minutes out from The Strip, holds a beautiful area untouched by the city known as Mary Jane Falls. You can surround yourself with the canyons and gaze upon the majestic waterfall.
Vegas is truly a bustling, bright city, with plenty of eating, shopping, and entertainment, but also has its counterbalance with nature. Now that the mysteries have been resolved, there’s only one thing left to do – visit!
